Mark Everett

Assistant Scoutmaster - Equipment

I started scouts as a Wolf in pack 430. I continued through Scouting and earned my Eagle Scout. Scouting taught me many things over the years that took me years to realize I had learned. However, there were immediate passions like being in the outdoors. My love of being out away from the world was there before Scouts but Scouts made me confident in myself and my abilities in the outdoors. It showed me how to appreciate nature and how we can work together with what has been provided to survive and strive away from modern conveniences. I learned life basics like cooking, first aid, and knots that are useful way beyond putting up a tent. Fire-starting, backpacking, rock climbing, and many other skills and adventures will always be with me and part of me. The things that took longer to sink in were even more valuable to me. I am the man I am today because of Scouting. I learned to not only be a leader but to also be part of a team. I learned the value of the Scout Oath and Law. Words that I now try to hold myself to daily. My time in Scouts has helped shape my career, family, and passions. Now I can give that back to my sons and daughters and their peers hopefully helping to create wiser, kinder, and more adaptable leaders for our future.

I believe in the aims of scouting and believe all youth deserve to be part of the scouting movement. I have seen, first hand, how the values of scouting have changed youth in our troop.

Brian Kenner has been a volunteer with the Scouting Program for 7 years serving as a Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, and Wood Badge participant/staff member. All three of Brian’s children are in Scouting. His 15-year-old son is a Life Scout, his 10-year-old son is a WEBELOS Scout, and his 7-year-old daughter is a Tiger Scout. Brian’s favorite part of Scouting is giving Scouts an opportunity to participate in activities that they otherwise would not have an opportunity to participate in. In addition to camping, some of Brian’s favorite activities are boating, ax throwing, and go-kart racing!

Jake Graves

Assistant Scoutmaster

I was a Scout from 2000-2002, and I achieved the Rank of Tenderfoot in a Troop in Wenatchee. My Scoutmaster was one of the many reasons why I joined the military. I left Scouting to pursue sports. I have been participating in Scouting with my son James for the last 4 years, and have recently become an ASM. Scouting has absolutely changed my everyday life. I constantly think about the ideals of Scouting and how I can apply them every day.
